Logistics Coordinator (Remote in the Atlanta, GA area OR Hybrid in Savannah, GA)

Job Summary

As a key member of the Operations team, the Logistics Coordinator provides excellent customer service and supports load growth by managing logistics operations.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

The position reports to the Brokerage Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate load planning, driver scheduling, appointments, and dispatch for in-house drivers, owner-operators, and sub-haulers.
  2. Manage routing for import and export bookings with ocean carriers.
  3. Track and trace shipments, resolve billing or shipping discrepancies, and communicate with customers and vendors.
  4. Build relationships with customers, carriers, and agents to enhance service competitiveness.
  5. Prepare and process international shipping documentation such as HAWBs, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo, Bills of Lading, Certificates, etc.
  6. Coordinate with Customs Brokers, Agents, and Ocean Terminal Operators.
  7. Support and aim to meet or exceed quarterly performance metrics.
  8. Communicate service issues promptly to relevant departments.
  9. Utilize Portpro/Shipos systems for issue resolution and documentation.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  11. Follow established policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate in both operational and customer service roles.
  • Experience in dispatching operations.
  • Customer-service oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and responsive.
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and email communication.
  • Knowledge of ocean container drayage and regulatory requirements.
Education and Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the U.S.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in dispatching or freight brokerage planning.
Physical Requirements

Primarily sitting at a desk, working with dispatching equipment.

Schedule
  • Day shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Weekends as needed.
