Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking a Stores Keeper in the Logistics Section to support procurement, warehousing, and distribution for water, wastewater, and drainage systems. The role includes processing purchase requests, updating inventory records, cycle counts, and receiving/issuing stock to maintain essential city infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience performing storekeeping and inventory work; two years preferred.
• Proficient in data entry and maintaining storeroom records.
• Knowledge of procurement concepts and warehouse safety.
• Ability to use basic computer software and inventory systems.
• Driver license and ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Review ordering, receiving, sorting, issuing, and delivering inventory to ensure codes/regulations.
• Inspect shipments for specifications, quantities, cost, and conditions.
• Prepare reports when discrepancies are found and ensure proper packaging/return of items.
• May assist training of new personnel and maintain standard procedures.
• Schedule and dispatch tools and equipment for daily use, including heavy equipment.
