Job summary

East Bay Municipal Utility District’s Pardee Center seeks a Materials Specialist to coordinate procurement, receipts, storage, inventory, transportation, issuance and recording of materials for water facilities; performs storekeeping and materials handling duties with independent judgment.

The role includes forklift operation, maintaining records, organizing vendor files, ensuring purchasing procedures are followed, and optimizing inventory across projects in a hands-on environment near Pardee

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of progressively responsible storekeeping experience.
• Valid California driver's license with satisfactory record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform field and office tasks.
• Willingness to work outdoors and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Control purchases and service costs to meet budget limits.
• Track and update invoices and purchase transactions.
• Maintain records of purchases, requisitions, invoices and MSDS.
• Provide input to inventory management system modernization.
• Research parts, materials, equipment, and vendors.
• Coordinate scheduling, delivery and payment for rental equipment.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure procurement complies with procedures.
• Operate forklift and maintain clean, safe work areas.
