Job summary

Hunt Electric, a 100% employee-owned company with over six decades of stability, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to drive efficient shipments from manufacturing to delivery. You will work cross-functionally with Design, Production, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to meet customer needs and deadlines.

The role requires arranging, routing, and tracking shipments locally and nationally, ensuring compliance, and supporting back-up warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in logistics or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics or related field.
• Knowledge of all transportation modes and methods.

Responsibilities

• Process and complete incoming logistics requests from production or project management teams.
• Coordinate, track, and plan for inbound/outbound freight with vendors and third-party services.
• Schedule internal drivers and third-party services for deliveries.
• Update and manage the delivery calendar for jobsite deliveries.
• Call ahead to jobsite locations to verify delivery requirements and contacts.
• Communicate changes with the project team and document scheduling details.
• Create appropriate Bills of Lading and obtain necessary permits.
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse staff for staging, loading, and shipping materials.
• Back up warehouse or purchasing as needed.
• Adhere to Hunt Electric safety guidelines and DOT/IFTA compliance.
• Coordinate with third-party couriers when necessary.

Job Description Summary

The Logistics Specialist is a part of SureTree Logistics LLC, which is a member company of Evergreen Holdings. This position will play a key role in Hunt Electric’s overall logistics strategy. The Logistics Specialist will work collaboratively with our Design, Production, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure customer needs and project deadlines are met. This role will assist in preparing, routing, scheduling, and tracking shipments from our manufacturing facility to the point of delivery (both locally and across the country.) This role reports to the Logistics Director.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

• Processes and completes incoming logistics requests from production or project management teams.
• Provides coordination, tracking, and planning for incoming and outbound freight with preferred vendors and third-party services.
• Schedules our internal team of Over the Road CDL drivers as well as third-party services as necessary.
• Updates and schedules the delivery calendar for jobsite deliveries.
• Calls ahead to jobsite locations to verify delivery requirements, dates, point of contacts, etc.
• Communicates, documents and tracks scheduled dates and changes with project team.
• Creates appropriate Bill of Lading.
• Obtains necessary permits for internal drivers.
• Works with purchasing and warehouse staff to stage material, load trucks for delivery, and ship the material.
• Cancels tickets and coordinates with project team as requested.
• Works in a safe manner and follows Hunt Electric safety program guidelines and policies.
• Ensures DOT, IFTA and other appropriate compliances are met.
• Coordinates third party couriers when necessary.
• May act as a back-up for the warehouse and/or purchasing.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; College degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience with logistics or a related field.
• Knowledge and experience in working with all modes and methods of transportation.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

• This job operates in a warehouse environment and is exposed to weather conditions.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per warehouse requirements, including but not limited to, hard toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves, and high visibility vest.
• This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
• Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
• This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range

$66,560.00 - $92,160.00

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
