Warehouse Services Inc. is looking for a Carrier Representative in Mount Vernon, IN to coordinate goods shipped from origin to destination. The role demands excellent communication, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.

Job description

Location: Mount Vernon, IN or Evansville, IN

Responsibilities

Under appropriate supervision with latitude for independent judgment, the carrier representative performs a variety of assignments, both clerical and technical. You will be responsible for the coordination of goods shipped from origin to destination. Must be able to communicate effectively with drivers and vendors to ensure the efforts of the ILS team meet the goals of the customer.

• Develop capacity solutions in order to support the needs of our customer.
• Maintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts and identify opportunities for additional revenue.
• Conduct calls with carriers to determine driver availability and negotiate transportation rates.
• Direct drivers and give appropriate information with regards to pick up and delivery locations.
• Ensure that specific customer load requirements are met on committed and/or transactional shipments.
• Assist as needed with developing invoicing data, and coordinates this information with accounts payable.
• Provide exceptional service to contracted carriers and internal customers.
