Logistics Specialist

This position reports to

Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

1. Optimize inventory and process improvements
2. Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials according to production schedules
3. Manage inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs
4. Define requirements for and develop, implement, and monitor inventory management systems
5. Provide teamwork direction and daily communications with the team leader
6. Enforce and improve Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and compliance
7. Implement cross-training for all shipping areas
8. Schedule transportation, including dedicated and expedited trucks, and monitor costs to suggest reductions
9. Develop and improve processes to meet organizational needs, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
10. Build strong cross-functional relationships with plant managers, product line leaders, commercial teams, customer service, and finance
11. Manage complex issues within your expertise area
12. Update and publish operational performance metrics and schedules of tasks (SOTs)
13. Drive service performance and align with overall business strategy
14. Manage materials, schedules, status, and inventory; develop productivity plans to meet master schedules for customers

Qualifications for the role

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in production, planning, or logistics
• Proficiency with tools such as tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools
• Ability to safely use a ladder as needed
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs
• Legal work authorization to work for ABB in the US
