Logistics Specialist

Position Overview

This position reports to the Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor.

Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
2. Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials according to production schedules.
3. Manage inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs.
4. Define requirements for and develop, implement, and monitor inventory management systems.
5. Provide teamwork direction and daily communication with the team leader.
6. Enforce and improve Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards and compliance.
7. Enhance cross-training across all shipping areas.
8. Schedule transportation, including dedicated trucks and expedited shipping, and monitor costs to identify savings.
9. Develop and improve processes to meet business needs, focusing on safety, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
10. Build strong relationships with plant managers, product line leaders, commercial teams, customer service, and finance.
11. Handle complex issues within your area of expertise.
12. Update and publish operational performance metrics.
13. Drive service performance and contribute to business strategy.
14. Manage materials, schedules, and inventory, translating these into actionable productivity plans to meet master schedules for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in production, planning, or logistics.
• Proficiency with tools such as tape measures, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools.
• Ability to safely use ladders when required.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Legal work authorization for employment in the US.
