Job summary

Matson Logistics is seeking a Logistics Solutions Specialist to serve as the day-to-day contact for customers, handling order execution, shipment monitoring, and service delivery. You will maintain clear communication with customers and internal partners, ensuring accurate order entry and timely updates.

Collaboration with Sales, Pricing, Accounting, and Planning teams is essential to meet customer expectations and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a 4-year degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and professional demeanor.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• MS Office knowledge and accurate data entry.
• Ability to adapt to changing customer needs.
• Travel to customer sites infrequent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for tender acceptance, order creation, shipment status, and service issues.
• Ensure complete and accurate order entry via EDI, web tender, email, fax, or phone.
• Manage daily load acceptance and provide timely updates and status reports to customers.
• Receive shipment requirements and identify competitive truckload or intermodal options.
• Use pricing and capacity tools to evaluate market costs and availability.
• Establish margin expectations for quotes while supporting revenue growth.
• Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery to ensure timely execution.
• Identify and respond to shipment disruptions and implement contingency plans.
• Gather data and assist with investigations related to loss or damaged shipments.
• Review invoices for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Determine billable accessorial charges and ensure timely invoicing.
• Complete all required customer and internal documentation accurately.
