Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in Mississippi is seeking a Site/Operations Supervisor to lead frontline warehouse staff and coordinate daily site activities. The role focuses on safety, accuracy, and timely service across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.

You will monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy, while driving improvements and ensuring SOPs and customer requirements are met. Weekend OT may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse/logistics operations.
• 3+ years leading frontline staff.
• Knowledge of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, packing, shipping.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse employees and promote a safe, respectful, performance-driven environment.
• Plan and coordinate daily DC activities based on workload and priorities.
• Assign work, monitor attendance/productivity, adjust labor as needed.
• Oversee receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy KPIs.
• Ensure SOPs and security standards are followed; drive root-cause analyses.
• Lead shift meetings, safety talks, and coaching sessions.
• Collaborate with inventory, quality, customer service, and transport teams.
• Maintain accurate operational records and shift handoffs.
• Identify process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Support peak periods and special projects.

As a Site/Operations Supervisor at Kuehne+Nagel

You will lead frontline employees and coordinate daily site activities to ensure customer requirements are completed safely, accurately, and on time. Your leadership will directly influence employee engagement, operational performance, inventory integrity, and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee assigned site operations, including receiving, put‑away, replenishment, picking, packing, value-added services, inventory control, shipping, and related customer activities. By monitoring workflow, allocating resources, and resolving operational issues, you will help the team consistently achieve service, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.

Your typical shift will be Monday – Friday, 3pm-12am with some expectations of weekend OT as needed. As a 3PL provider, we will count on your leadership skills to help drive excellent service for our valued customers.

How you create impact

• Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse employees while promoting a safe, respectful, and performance-focused work environment.
• Plan and coordinate daily distribution center activities based on workload, staffing, customer priorities, and service-level requirements.
• Assign work, monitor attendance and productivity, and adjust labor resources throughout the shift to meet operational demands.
• Oversee receiving, put‑away, replenishment, picking, packing, value-added services, inventory control, and shipping activities within the assigned area.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, cost, and on-time completion.
• Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures, customer requirements, security standards, and company policies.
• Investigate operational issues, inventory discrepancies, damages, quality defects, and service failures; implement timely corrective action.
• Conduct shift meetings, safety talks, performance discussions, training, and documented coaching as required.
• Partner with inventory, quality, customer service, transportation, human resources, and other teams to resolve issues and support customer needs.
• Maintain accurate operational records, labor reports, system transactions, shift handoffs, and performance documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support initiatives that improve safety, quality, efficiency, employee engagement, and customer service.
• Ensure material handling equipment, work areas, and warehouse processes are used and maintained safely; elevate equipment or facility concerns promptly.
• Support peak periods, special projects, customer implementations, and additional operational responsibilities as assigned.

What we would like you to bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or third-party logistics (3PL) operations preferred.
• 3+ year of experience leading, supervising, training, or coordinating frontline employees in an operational environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and distribution center processes.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), labor management systems, RF scanners, or inventory systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze performance information, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to changing business demands, and remain professional under pressure.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices, quality standards, attendance management, and performance accountability.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule, including overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the distribution center for extended periods in accordance with job requirements.
