Job summary

LINK Staffing is seeking an experienced Logistics & Shipping Manager in Houston, TX to oversee shipping operations, freight coordination, inventory replenishment, and order fulfillment for a growing food and beverage manufacturing facility.

You will manage daily shipping activities, coordinate outbound freight, and optimize carrier relationships while ensuring production runs smoothly and customer orders are delivered on time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination.
• Experience coordinating freight carriers and managing shipping schedules.
• Strong understanding of order fulfillment, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory or ERP systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and warehouse procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping activities to ensure timely customer deliveries.
• Coordinate outbound freight shipments, including carrier scheduling, pickup arrangements, and delivery tracking.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reliable freight carriers to optimize transportation costs and service levels.
• Review customer sales orders and coordinate with production to ensure fulfillment deadlines are met.
• Work closely with internal departments to prioritize orders and resolve shipping or fulfillment issues.
• Prepare and distribute daily shipping reports, including shipment status, delays, and outstanding orders.
• Monitor raw material and packaging supply levels to support uninterrupted production.
• Coordinate purchasing and replenishment of raw materials, packaging supplies, and other operational materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control procedures.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and purchasing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
• Ensure shipping, receiving, and storage activities follow established operating procedures.
• Support compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF), food safety, and OSHA requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and other departments to maintain efficient daily operations.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Logistics & Shipping Manager to oversee shipping operations, freight coordination, inventory replenishment, and order fulfillment for a growing food and beverage manufacturing facility in Houston. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, materials are available to support production, and finished products are shipped efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, warehouse operations, freight management, and supply chain coordination, preferably within a food manufacturing or distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Logistics & Shipping Operations
