The role leads a team of about 13, coordinating with Production, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and 3PL partners to ensure on-time, accurate shipments.

A growing manufacturer of high-quality consumer products is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager / Shipping Manager to oversee all shipping, logistics, and outbound distribution operations.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately, completely, and on time while leading a team of approximately 13 employees. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and third-party logistics partners to drive shipping performance, inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Logistics Operations

• Direct all daily shipping activities for finished goods.
• Ensure orders are staged, verified, packaged, and loaded accurately.
• Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
• Manage truck scheduling, routing, and delivery execution.
• Maintain shipment accuracy, on-time delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
• Optimize transportation costs, carrier utilization, and shipping efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 13 shipping and logistics associates.
• Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and employee development.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Ensure accurate scanning, tracking, documentation, and shipment verification.
• Oversee shipping paperwork, packing lists, and inventory accuracy.
• Support efficient warehouse organization and material flow.
• Verify all products, accessories, and related materials are included with customer shipments.

Systems & Reporting

• Utilize ERP, warehouse, and shipping systems to manage order flow and logistics activities.
• Track KPIs related to shipping accuracy, freight costs, labor productivity, and on-time delivery.
• Develop reporting and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of leadership experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, distribution, or transportation operations.
• Experience managing shipping functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising teams and driving operational performance.
• Experience using ERP, warehouse management, or shipping systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience with cabinetry, furniture, millwork, building products, or other large finished goods.
• Experience managing freight carriers and 3PL relationships.
• Knowledge of LTL and FTL transportation.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.DOT compliance or fleet management experience.
