Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment.
• Familiarity with operating powered industrial vehicles.
• Basic computer skills to handle shipping documentation and inventory systems.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of outgoing shipment.
• Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
• Determine shipping method using knowledge of procedures and rates.
• Record shipment data for reporting and inventory purposes.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery of materials.
• Rectify problems with establishment representatives for damages, shortages, or non-conformance.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Pack, seal, label, and affix postage for shipping using appropriate tools.
