Job summary

SVSU Saginaw Valley State University is seeking a part-time Logistics Specialist responsible for receiving, processing and delivering goods, central stores orders, and outbound shipments. The role supports mail operations and the graphics center as needed.

Primary duties include unloading and inspecting shipments, maintaining records, processing receipts in Workday, and providing excellent customer service to the campus community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in receiving, shipping, delivery, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet SVSU vehicle policy requirements.
• Ability to use computerized record keeping, package tracking, purchasing and inventory control systems.
• Forklift operation ability with certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; work well in a diverse campus community.
• Professional manner in all communications.

Responsibilities

• Unload, receive, inspect, scan and deliver incoming shipments.
• Reject damaged shipments when appropriate.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders for shortages or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of goods received and processed.
• Process receipts in Workday as part of three-way match.
• Provide high level customer service to the university community.
• Train student employees and supervise daily work.
