Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus four years related experience; minimum one year supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred.
• Three years of industry experience preferred.
• Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping; some professional certifications may be required.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Provide supervision and control for all departmental activities; conduct staff meetings and address performance issues per policy.
• Oversee shipment documentation for accuracy; ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations.
• Compute duties, tariffs and conversions; communicate with customs officials to obtain release and resolve delays.
• Establish and revise policies and service standards for customs clearance operations.
• Identify gaps in import/export processes via audits and client reviews; monitor team performance against standards.
• Communicate with operations manager about progress; maintain flexibility with after-hours on-call rotation.
• Participate in department projects related to the area of responsibility.
