Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Supply Chain Operations Associate in Warren, MI to manage material availability, inventory control, and supplier coordination. The role requires attention to shipment timing, containment planning, and cost-conscious material coverage for production lines.

On-site work with a standard M-F schedule, overtime as needed. Eligible candidates have a HS diploma, administrative experience, and knowledge of MGO/GM MRP.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1 year or more in administrative experience, Preferred.
• 1 year or more in relevant experience, Preferred.
• Knowledge of MGO (GM's MRP system) Intermediate, Preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation management Intermediate, Preferred.
• Knowledge of material flow as it relates to manufacturing processes Intermediate, Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support production requirements.
• Serve as main point of contact for all suppliers. Provide direction to suppliers regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plan when behind schedule.
• Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plan to ensure no interruptions or down time to manufacturing line.
• Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material, requests for spot buys, if necessary (SPO and other GM Plants).
• Independent monitoring, set-up, and cancellation of truck loads for material pick-up, as necessary to support schedule variations.
• Review part buffers to determine that they cover build requirements. Document and manage S and AV code exceptions including Alarm Interval maintenance.
• MGO Data Maintenance. Maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO and make judgments on adjustments.
