Job summary

J.B. Hunt is seeking a Manager Trainee in Harrisburg, PA. This full-time role trains you to manage a small driver count, oversee non-traditional shifts, and ensure safe, on-time freight movement with strong customer service.

Under supervision, you will learn DOT compliance, budgeting, routing, and KPI reporting, while developing leadership and operations skills for future supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of related experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations.
• Able to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to set up new carriers and improve productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Train drivers and employees on systems and processes.
• Improve fleet operations, measure KPIs, and present customer reporting and financial analyses.
• Learn to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, and related financial reporting tasks.
• Coordinate yard maintenance and preventive maintenance with mechanics.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues.
