Job summary

Stevens Transport is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all logistics activity within a defined market. You will lead the operations team, coordinate daily freight movements, and balance priorities across capacity, demand, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities include monitoring loads, managing customer orders, generating regular reports, and developing contingency plans. A strong Excel and reporting background is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable federal/state regulations and DOT regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel reporting functions.
• Familiarity with transportation of temperature-controlled product.
• Highly organized and communicative, especially in developing action plans and ensuring accountability.
• Ability to perform in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Some knowledge of the AS/400 operating system preferred.
• Ability to handle high volumes of inbound communications.

Responsibilities

• Build a positive atmosphere by challenging others to achieve optimum results.
• Monitor balance, capacity, and demand of loads and trucks.
• Manage customer orders.
• Monitor outbound freight volume relative to commitments and address inconsistencies.
• Develop contingency plans for critical situations.
• Assist with generating new capacity through rate negotiations for unplanned lanes and volume.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports (P&L, revenue share, load counts, etc.).
