Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Haslet, TX, invites applications for an Operations Intern Summer 2027. This part-time role supports the Supply Chain department, assisting with transportation and logistics services under close supervision.

You will gain exposure to basic transportation management, freight planning, asset utilization, safety and DOT compliance, and related operational tasks while developing practical industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college, university or community college.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week during the school semester.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior or Senior level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight and asset utilization.
• Support safety management and DOT compliance efforts.
• Assist with driver payroll and Customer Value Delivery activities.
• Contribute to logistics management/analysis and driver supervision.
• Support profit-and-loss management and coordination of maintenance as needed.
