Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services USA, Inc. is seeking an Operations Associate in Tukwila, WA to manage freight forwarding shipments across multiple modes, delivering high-level operations excellence and a strong customer service experience.

You will track and trace outbound shipments, inspect freight, contract carriers, quote and invoice international shipments, and support domestic routing including Canada. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft products are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Typing speed of 35+ words per minute.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends/on-call rotations.
• Experience with transportation management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and tracing outbound shipments.
• Inspecting outbound freight.
• Contracting new carriers and assigning loads; load tenders.
• Communicating freight status to stations and customers; updating system.
• Provide customer service.
• Data entry of shipments into TMS; quoting, costing and invoicing.
• Domestic air and ground routing (including Canada).
• Negotiate freight rates and develop carrier relationships.
• Find and develop new logistics opportunities and carrier solutions.
