Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is seeking a Manager Trainee (May 2027) to learn the management of a small driver count, handle non-traditional shifts, and ensure safe, on-time freight movement with strong customer service.

You’ll be trained on turnover reduction, fleet optimization, and reporting, while gaining exposure to payroll, budgeting, and driver safety programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent military/experience.
Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.

Responsibilities

Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity.
Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
Train drivers and employees including client systems and onboarding.
Enhance fleet efficiency and profitability; present customer-focused reports and analyses.
Manage yard, maintenance coordination, and ensure safety and DOT compliance.
Plan loads, route freight, monitor movement, and resolve service issues with customers.
