Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and top-tier customer service.

You will be trained to ensure DOT compliance and oversee driver and fleet operations, with opportunities to develop reporting, budgeting, and account management skills across WA locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with up to 4 years of equivalent education or Bachelor's degree.
• Willing to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends; travel to locations when applicable.
• Bachelor’s plus 1 year of or equivalent education, experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support fleet optimization projects.
• Train drivers and employees on internal and customer systems.
• Analyze KPIs and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage yard operations and coordinate maintenance scheduling.
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, and invoicing.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight movement to meet schedules.
