Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking a Manager Trainee in a full-time role within Supply Chain. The position develops leadership by learning to manage a small driver count, schedule freight, and ensure safe, timely movement of goods while maintaining DOT compliance and customer service excellence.

You will rotate through duties including driver relations, payroll, budgeting, safety training, and performance reporting to build a foundation for future management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as stated.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless new carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects related to optimizing fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and employees, including internal and customer systems.
• Plan, route, monitor freight movement to provide on-time service and meet customer requirements.
• Manage yard operations, coordinate maintenance, and ensure safety issues are addressed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field

High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience
