Job summary

Antolin, a leading global automotive supplier, is seeking a Materials Manager to lead all materials planning, inventory control, and MRP/ERP activities to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery. You will drive supplier performance, cost control, and continuous improvement across the plant.

The role requires strong leadership, SAP/ERP expertise, and a proactive, data-driven approach to manage materials availability and risk in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in SCM, Business, Logistics, Operations or engineering; APICS certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in materials management, supply chain, planning, or logistics within manufacturing; leadership experience required.
  • Office and manufacturing environment experience; PPE when on the manufacturing floor.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP, inventory control, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Excel skills.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MRP/ERP management: review demand, forecasts, schedules, BOMs, lead times, and make adjustments.
  • Manage inventory targets, cycle counting, and discrepancy investigations.
  • Coordinate material flow from receiving to shipping to support production schedules.
  • Monitor KPI performance: delivery, inventory turns, DOH, and planning accuracy; report to leadership.
  • Develop corrective actions for supplier performance, shortages, and ramp-downs.
  • Lead and develop Materials, Planning, Inventory, and Logistics teams; promote cross-functional collaboration.

Mission:

Responsible for leading all materials management functions to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time customer delivery. This role oversees material planning, supplier performance, inventory control, MRP system accuracy, and supply chain execution while driving continuous improvement, cost control, and operational excellence throughout the plant.

Responsibilities:
MRP/ERP Management
  • Review customer demand, forecasts, production schedules, inventory levels, BOMs, and lead times to determine material requirements.
  • Maintain accurate MRP parameters, including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, reorder points, and planning policies.
  • Monitor MRP exceptions and take corrective action on shortages, excess inventory, past-due requirements, and schedule changes.
  • Partner with Production Planning to ensure material availability supports production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans to mitigate material shortages and supply disruptions.
  • Manage supplier releases, purchase requirements, delivery schedules, and material commitments.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to delivery, quality, responsiveness, and capacity.
  • Communicate forecasts, schedule changes, shortages, and expedite requirements with suppliers.
  • Escalate supplier concerns and drive corrective actions and recovery plans as needed.
  • Support supplier development initiatives focused on improving delivery performance and supply chain reliability.
Inventory Management
  • Establish and maintain inventory targets that balance customer service, production requirements, and working capital objectives.
  • Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels to ensure optimal inventory performance.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting, transaction discipline, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and reduce excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and at-risk inventory.
  • Coordinate physical inventories and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Production & Material Flow
  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor material constraints and proactively communicate risks to Operations and leadership.
  • Coordinate material movement through receiving, warehousing, production, and shipping operations.
  • Establish priorities for shortages and constrained materials to minimize production interruptions.
  • Support production schedule changes while minimizing material disruption, downtime, and excess inventory.
Performance Management
  • Monitor and report key Materials/Supply Chain KPIs, including supplier delivery, MRP performance, inventory accuracy, inventory turns, DOH, material shortages, premium freight, schedule adherence, and excess inventory.
  • Analyze performance trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to achieve targets.
  • Provide regular KPI reporting and communicate materials performance and supply chain risks to leadership.
  • Lead initiatives to improve material availability, inventory efficiency, supplier performance, planning accuracy, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
  • Standardize materials processes, procedures, and best practices to improve consistency and operational performance.
  • Utilize root-cause analysis and data-driven decision-making to resolve recurring material and inventory issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement throughout the materials organization.
Leadership
  • Lead, coach, develop, and support Materials, Planning, Inventory, and Logistics personnel.
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability within the team.
  • Foster collaboration across Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Customer Service to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate material risks, supply chain challenges, and recovery plans to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, customer requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and enforce Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, utilize required PPE, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Support safety initiatives, incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts that promote a culture of safety and accountability.
What we are looking for:
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required. APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, production planning, or logistics within a manufacturing environment. Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required.
  • Physical Requirement: Work involves both office and manufacturing environments. Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, use computers and office equipment, attend production floor meetings, and wear required personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory control, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, material availability, and supply chain risk.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish language ability is a plus.
