Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Logistics Management Trainee for our 9–12 month program in the Supply Chain Solutions division. This role offers on-the-job learning, structured logistics training, and leadership development with a Ryder Mentor.

Upon completion, relocation within the region may be required. The program emphasizes leadership, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement to prepare future leaders for the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or a related field required.
• One year involvement in extracurricular activities demonstrating leadership skills.
• One year internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations.
• Plan and review logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to meet standards and customer specs.
• Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of employees to ensure optimal shift/team logistics.
• Accountable for site KPIs.
• Collaborate with customers in all aspects of operations.
• Regularly meet with team members to monitor progress toward objectives and recognize successes.
• Promote Diversity and Inclusion and seek opportunities to improve internal processes.
• Implement health & safety and security initiatives in line with company policies.
• Understand levers for account profitability; prepare customer reporting and financial analysis for continuous improvement.
• Learn financial aspects relevant to the account and onboarding/training processes.
