Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Leetsdale, PA is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and top‑notch customer service.

This role trains to ensure DOT compliance, oversee driver performance, payroll, budgeting, and reporting, and coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams for efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 1 year of management/transportation experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignment.
• Willingness to travel to account locations when applicable.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe, reliable outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent or unavailable personnel and assist with special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and employees, including internal and third-party systems.
• Analyze and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Assist with payroll, budgets, driver counseling, invoicing, and administrative tasks.
