Job summary

Walpole Outdoors in Pittsfield, ME, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize the flow of goods, inventory, and shipments across domestic and international routes. The role is hands-on in the warehouse and shipping areas and reports to the Building Manager.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in shipping/logistics, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong Excel and Office skills, and a track record of improving accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, packaging, warehouse, or logistics operations.
• 2+ years of experience with inventory management and purchasing.
• Experience with domestic and international shipping and customs procedures.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Perform daily warehouse operations, including receiving, processing, packaging, storage, and movement of materials and finished goods.
• Prepare customer shipments, including final pack-out, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation.
• Coordinate domestic and international incoming and outgoing shipments, including applicable customs requirements.
• Maintain lot traceability and accurate shipping records.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse, finished goods inventory, and inventory records.
• Track raw material and finished goods inventory and support monthly inventory reporting.
• Conduct and reconcile physical inventories and investigate discrepancies between system and physical inventory.
• Provide guidance and support to junior logistics team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and properly maintain warehouse equipment and supplies.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Read, interpret, and complete shipping documents, logs, SOPs, and other required documentation.
• Follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities related to warehouse, inventory, shipping, and logistics processes.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet operational and customer requirements.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
