Job Title: Logistics & Inventory Coordinator

Reports to: Sr. Dispatcher & Distribution Managers

Job Summary: Revolve around ensuring the accurate and timely arrival of goods. This includes receiving shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips, unpacking items, inspecting them for damage, and placing them in designated storage locations, while also maintaining accurate inventory records. Coordinate receiving processes for our line of products: aluminum, vinyl and chain link. Working close with the warehouse team to ensure enough products are available to meet demand and customer orders fulfillment. Provides administrative support to the dispatch team and logistics manager. Support with the coordination of the daily operations of the distribution department and oversee the sending and receiving of deliveries. Support and facilitate inventory process.
Essential Job Functions
- Compare incoming shipments to purchase orders and packing slips to confirm accurate deliveries and identify any discrepancies.
- Unpack incoming shipments and inspect items for damage or defects.
- Support the warehouse team sorting and placing items in designated storage locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Keep track of incoming stock levels, update inventory records, and lead inventory counts and audits.
- Help with loading outbound shipments, preparing packages, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
- Run warehouse operations by working closely with all operation departments for efficient scheduling of merchandise being received.
- Receive materials and make sure all paperwork is entered into the system.
- Provide support in the daily route assignments based on scheduling and customer requirements utilizing RoadNet.
- Utilize computerized routing system (i.e., RoadNet) to track schedules, changes in assign-ments/routes and maintain follow-up information.
- Work with other business units on cross-dock shipping, if necessary.
- Assisting the center's staff with administrative and technical aspects of inventory, logistics and receiving functions
- Partner with the Sales Team and Drivers to resolve customer issues or concerns.
- Answering phones as needed.
- Coordinate RMA pickups with customers and other departments
- Check the assigned driver’s paperwork and routes.
- Print customer pickup orders, ensure payment has been made.
- Oversee logistics projects when applicable.
- Provide support as needed with in-house created, planning system used for all production departments within the facility.
- Responsible for receiving process of all products into facility. Ensures raw materials are received properly in ERP.
- Works closely with purchasing to minimize raw material stock outs.
- Support the coordination of monthly and year-end physical inventories.
- Work cohesively with all departments.
- Support areas of inventory control, including receiving, cycle counting, and maintaining accu-rate inventory records.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to optimize inventory layout, storage, and retrieval processes.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- Associate degree or some college background
- Bilingual – English/Spanish – preferred
- 2-5 years in shipping and/or manufacturing work experience
- 5S hands on experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Full understanding of industry safety standard
- Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Dispatch and Routing Experience
- Computer literate, ability to use MS Office
- Knowledge with Samsara and Fleet Insight software applications preferred
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Self-Motivated, detailed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
