Pay Range: $19.00/hr - $22.00/hr (based on experience and skills)
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Call Center Manager
Position Summary
Gastroenterology of the Rockies, a rapidly growing practice with multiple locations, seeks a Medical Patient Scheduler. The role involves scheduling patient visits and procedures, communicating effectively with patients, and maintaining accurate records to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Respond professionally to patient calls for scheduling appointments and procedures.
- Gather and update patient demographic, insurance, and medical history information.
- Coordinate with medical staff to prioritize urgent cases.
- Refer billing-related inquiries to the billing department.
- Explain pre-appointment procedures and send appointment details to patients.
- Participate in staff meetings to improve patient care and department efficiency.
- Send appointment reminders via the “Recall” process.
- Advocate for patients to ensure satisfaction and proper care.
- Report any patient dissatisfaction to supervisors.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Call Center experience preferred; 1-2 years as a patient scheduler (GI experience a plus).
- Excellent communication skills, especially over the phone.
- Ability to handle pressure and resolve problems effectively.
- Basic computer skills; experience with medical software (Intergy) preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Office environment; ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to walk short distances and perform repetitive motions.
