Job summary

McLane Global in Houston, TX, seeks a Logistics Engineer (Level II or Senior) to design, optimize, and improve distribution networks across the supply chain. This in-office role focuses on Transportation and Distribution engineering to cut costs and boost service levels through data-driven insights.

You will model networks, analyze data, and collaborate with operations, IT, procurement, and finance to translate findings into actionable plans and support TMS/WMS implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research or related field.
• 2–7+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain engineering, or network modeling.
• Proficiency with supply chain modeling and route optimization tools.
• Working knowledge of TMS and WMS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and visualization tools.
• Knowledge of freight transportation operations, routing principles, and carrier management.

Responsibilities

• Network Design & Optimization: Develop and maintain supply chain network models for optimal locations and routes.
• Data Analytics & Process Improvement: Collect, clean, and analyze large logistics datasets and track KPIs.
• Transportation & Distribution Engineering: Analyze modes, routing, and carrier performance for cost-saving opportunities.
• Warehouse & Fulfillment Design: Support layout design, slotting analysis, and labor modeling.
• Collaboration & Implementation: Partner with operations, IT, finance to translate insights into actionable plans and support tech implementations (TMS/WMS).
