Job summary

American Iron & Metal is seeking a Dispatcher to join our logistics team in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with drivers, customers, scale operators and yard personnel to keep material moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating pickups and deliveries, ensuring DOT compliance, tracking loads, and resolving day-to-day issues while maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of dispatching experience in transportation, logistics or related industries.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
• Experience coordinating with drivers, customers and operations teams.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch drivers to meet customer and operational needs.
• Handle customer service calls and coordinate pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate daily with drivers, scale operators and yard teams.
• Monitor routes, schedules and driver hours for DOT compliance.
• Track inbound and outbound loads and maintain accurate records.
• Provide drivers with site details and material instructions.
• Resolve scheduling issues and day-to-day operational challenges.
