Job summary

KAG SERVICES INC is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator in Tacoma, WA to streamline freight transportation operations. You will plan and coordinate shipping, partner with drivers and managers, and drive efficiency and safety across the network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
• Previous logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan and carry out shipping operations.
• Develop daily operating plan with emphasis on achieving KPI targets.
• Evaluate current operating plan and create future plans focusing on payload and on‑time deliveries.
• Engage daily with Scheduling Team Leaders on growth opportunities for KAG assets.
• Assess and adjust plans to maximize growth, efficiency and safety.
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities.
• Update sourcing and revise daily operating plan to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere to meet company demands and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments.
• Manage day-to-day operations of up to 75 drivers.
• Coordinate maintenance issues with Terminal Managers and Lead Technicians.
