Job summary

SECO is seeking an entry-level logistics associate to support freight consolidation and shipping activities. You will communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams, and accurately set up outbound shipments across multiple systems for diverse customers.

You will coordinate driver check-ins, assist with inbound shipments, and maintain reports while ensuring safety and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in freight consolidation/shipping/receiving
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task
• Basic typing and computer skills: check/send emails, use MS Excel/Word, answer/transfer calls, electronic filing
• Familiarity with AS400 and PC applications
• Team player who can support others
• Commitment to safety rules and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret English documents such as policies, freight bills, and invoices

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, timely, effective, and accurate communication to customers, carriers, and internal team members via emails and phone calls
• Accurately enter outbound shipment information in multiple systems for multiple customers
• Communicate effectively with drivers at the driver check-in window
• Coordinate inbound shipments with Account Managers and Dock Supervisors
• Perform yard and dock walks to account for all trailers on site
• Maintain reports and spreadsheets and submit them internally and to customers as required
• Report findings and notes on daily processes to supervisor
• Report malfunctioning equipment or programs to supervisor
• Ability to read and interpret English documents including policies, freight bills, bills of lading, invoices, and work orders
