Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Logistics Coordinator for a busy distribution center in Gauteng. The role focuses on coordinating receiving, storage, dispatch, and transport scheduling, with strong emphasis on inventory accuracy and compliance.

You will support daily operations, liaise with suppliers, monitor stock, and generate performance reports. A diploma in Logistics is preferred, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience is required in logistics or warehousing coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in logistics or warehousing coordination.
• Proficiency with WMS and inventory control software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Knowledge of South African logistics regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage and dispatch of goods.
• Liaise with transport providers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
• Manage and update inventory records using the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Prepare shipping documents such as manifests, bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Communicate shipment status and delays with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in replenishment planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security procedures in the warehouse.
• Assist in resolving logistical issues and discrepancies.
• Generate reports on operational performance, inventory accuracy and delivery timeliness.
• Support Warehouse Supervisor/Manager with daily tasks and projects.
