Job description

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is seeking a Logistics Coordinator. The primary goal of this role is to manage and improve the coordination and tracking of railcar shipments to and from shops, ensuring timely and successful deliveries for maintenance, qualifications, and cleaning. The position aims to reduce service disruptions and optimize shipments to minimize railcar out-of-service time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply proper billing instructions for railcars moving to/from shops
• Resolve billing issues promptly
• Ensure timely and successful railcar shipments for maintenance, qualifications, and cleaning
• Prevent service disruptions and optimize shipments to reduce railcar out-of-service time
• Understand bill of lading requirements, basic terminology, and rail routing options
• Monitor railcar movements, identify delays or route deviations, and intervene as needed
• Open and track escalation logs with railroads, document communications, and resolve issues
• Communicate escalations internally
• Coordinate with clients and car owners to verify shipping instructions
• Create bills of lading or diversion requests to move railcars from client facilities to shops
• Collaborate with maintenance coordinators on priorities and escalated issues

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in rail operations or logistics coordination
• Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management preferred
• Experience with ERP systems or Rail TMS is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
