Job summary

City Harvest, New York's leading food rescue nonprofit, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage routing, dispatch, and data analysis for our network. You will help improve on-time performance, reduce undeliverables, and optimize capacity by partnering with Transportation, Network Relations, and BI teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, clear communication, and proficiency with CRM, Samsara, Excel, and Power BI. A fast-paced environment and seasonal peak workload are expected.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day planning, routing, and logistics operations for City Harvest’s network.
• Provide real-time updates and act as a major point of contact for routing changes and urgent adjustments.
• Analyze operational data in Field Service, Samsara, and Power BI to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Create and maintain routing documentation and SOPs.
• Help achieve departmental KPIs like on-time performance and delivery success rates.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address logistics issues and coordinate deliveries and pickups.
• Support seasonal routing efforts and high-volume irregular stop requests.
• Reconcile route completion data and document undeliverables with notes.
• Communicate status and issues effectively across teams.

Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in City Harvest’s daily operations by managing routing, dispatch, and data analysis that drive key organizational outcomes. This person supports the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of routes while helping identify and implement improvements to increase on‑time performance, reduce undeliverables, and enhance capacity utilization. The role collaborates closely with Transportation, Network Relations, Supply Chain NY, Warehouse, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure smooth execution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day planning, routing, and logistics operations for City Harvest’s network.
• Provide real‑time updates and act as a key point of contact for routing changes, callouts, and urgent adjustments.
• Analyze operational data in Field Service, Samsara, and Power BI to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Assist in creating and maintaining routing documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Contribute to the achievement of departmental KPIs, including on‑time performance, capacity utilization, and delivery success rates.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to address logistics issues and ensure smooth coordination of deliveries and pickups.
• Support seasonal routing efforts (e.g., holiday proteins, large rescues, special events) and manage high‑volume irregular stop requests.
• Contribute to data accuracy by reconciling route completion data and processing undeliverables with detailed notes.
• Communicate effectively across teams to keep stakeholders informed on key operational updates and issues.
