JOB DESCRIPTION

City Harvest is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented fundraising leader to join our team as Officer, Business Partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced corporate fundraiser with a proven track record of consistently securing six- and seven-figure gifts and building long-term partnerships that drive significant revenue growth.

In this highly visible, external-facing role, you will manage relationships with some of City Harvest's largest corporate donors, leading the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and multi-faceted fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success securing multiple major corporate gifts annually, developing innovative fundraising strategies, and expanding corporate support through new business development and exceptional relationship management.

Equally important, this role provides leadership and mentorship to team members across varying levels of experience. The successful candidate will have prior supervisory experience and a passion for coaching, developing, and empowering staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing fundraising culture. You will provide guidance, accountability, and professional development to help the team achieve ambitious revenue goals and strengthen fundraising capacity.

This position is ideal for a strategic fundraiser who combines strong business development with thoughtful leadership skills. Working cross-functionally across the organization, you will identify new corporate giving opportunities, develop compelling partnership strategies, and help position City Harvest for continued growth and impact in support of our mission to end hunger in New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Officer, Business Partnerships is responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of current, lapsed, and prospective corporate donors while driving revenue through strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and employee engagement opportunities. This role develops and executes donor-centric fundraising strategies that strengthen corporate relationships and advance City Harvest's fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a Corporate Fundraising Portfolio: Cultivate, solicit, steward, and retain a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects, securing new and renewed philanthropic investments to meet annual revenue goals.
  • Develop Fundraising Strategies: Create and execute customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans that increase corporate giving, expand multi-year support, and maximize sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
  • Secure New Business: Identify, research, and cultivate new corporate prospects, building a robust pipeline of partners aligned with City Harvest's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Provide Staff Management: Directly manage and supervise Business Partnerships team member(s), providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development to drive individual growth and fundraising success.
  • Drive Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director to develop compelling sponsorship proposals, cause marketing campaigns, and partnership opportunities that align corporate objective swith City Harvest's impact.
  • Lead Holiday Campaign: Oversee the planning, execution, and growth of City Harvest's annual holiday campaign, securing sponsorships, increasing corporate participation, and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Strengthen Donor Engagement: Develop meaningful engagement opportunities that deepen corporate relationships, enhance stewardship, and position partners for long-term investment.
  • Perform Other Duties: Support additional fundraising initiatives and departmental priorities as needed.

Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience.
  • Corporate Fundraising Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of corporate fundraising or business development experience with a proven track record of securing and growing six- and seven-figure corporate partnerships. Experience leading or managing fundraising initiatives, including corporate campaigns, capacity-building efforts,and special events, is required.
  • Leadership: Experience managing and mentoring staff, including junior team members and temporary employees, while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Revenue Generation: Demonstrated success developing and executing fundraising strategies that increase revenue through new business development, portfolio growth, and long-term corporate partnerships.
  • Corporate Partnerships: Proven ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, negotiate, and steward corporate donors, building strategic relationships that generate both philanthropic support and brand engagement.
  • Portfolio Management: Experience managing a diverse portfolio of corporate donors and prospects using moves management and donor-centric cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Proposal & Pitch Development: Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop compelling proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor communications that secure funding.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience developing fundraising plans, setting revenue goals, analyzing performance, and leveraging data to inform strategy and maximize results.
  • Project Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • CRM & Data Management: Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT or a comparable donor CRM, including portfolio management, pipeline tracking, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Professional Competencies: Resourceful, collaborative, and results-oriented, with exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to solve complex challenges while advancing fundraising goals.
