About the Role:

In this role, you will manage the flow of goods and information across warehouse and transportation operations for contract logistics customers, ensuring on-time, accurate, and cost-effective service. You will act as the central point of contact between internal teams, carriers, and customers, using data to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. Your work will help maintain service level agreements, optimise operational efficiency, and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate scheduling, documentation, and communication with carriers and warehouse teams.
  • Monitor warehouse activities related to contract logistics accounts, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch, to ensure adherence to customer requirements.
  • Track and update order status, shipment details, and inventory information in logistics systems, maintaining timely and accurate records.
  • Analyse operational and performance data (e.g., on-time delivery, fill rates, inventory accuracy) and prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Liaise with customers to provide shipment updates, resolve service issues, and clarify requirements, maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers to optimise routes, loads, and schedules in line with service level agreements and cost targets.
  • Escalate operational challenges, capacity constraints, or service risks and support problem-solving with cross-functional teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and proposing practical solutions in warehousing and transportation workflows.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in logistics coordination or operations, preferably within a contract logistics or 3PL environment.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse operations processes and terminology (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).
  • Practical understanding of transportation planning and execution, including carrier coordination, routing, and scheduling.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret operational metrics and convert them into clear, actionable reports.
  • Proficiency with logistics or warehouse management systems and standard office tools (e.g., Excel) for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to manage expectations, handle inquiries, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and customers.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with contract-specific service level agreements and KPIs in a logistics setting.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, lookups, basic dashboards).
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S) in warehousing or transport operations.
  • Knowledge of basic freight cost structures and budgeting considerations.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating logistics projects or new customer implementations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Any relevant logistics, supply chain, or transportation certifications (e.g., CLTD, CSCP, or similar) considered an advantage.
