Job summary

ShipNova is seeking a Team Lead Logistics Coordinator to oversee daily freight operations and guide a team of Logistics Coordinators in a fast-paced 3PL environment in Denton, TX. You will manage shipments from pickup to delivery, escalate issues, coach staff, and drive process improvements while maintaining high standards for accuracy and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor2 degree preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or 3PL operations required.
• Previous leadership, mentoring, or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of shipment coordination from pickup through delivery.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to coach team members and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during shipment disruptions and escalations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, transportation management systems, and other computer-based operational tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support to Logistics Coordinators.
• Coordinate and track shipments from pickup through delivery as needed.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for shipment issues, delays, service failures, and other operational challenges.
• Assist team members with resolving complex carrier, customer, pickup, and delivery issues.
• Ensure shipment updates are communicated accurately and proactively to customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment activity to identify potential service disruptions before they become larger issues.
• Ensure pickup and delivery appointments are scheduled and managed appropriately.
• Review load information and ensure shipment records within the transportation management system are accurate and complete.
• Ensure required shipping documentation is collected, completed, and properly organized.
• Coach and train Logistics Coordinators on operational procedures, systems, customer expectations, and best practices.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
• Assist management with identifying recurring operational issues and opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate with account management, carrier sales, pricing, sales, and other internal teams to support customer needs.
• Escalate significant customer, carrier, or operational concerns to management when appropriate.

Job description

The Team Lead Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting daily freight operations while providing leadership and guidance to a team of Logistics Coordinators. This role ensures shipments move efficiently from pickup through delivery while maintaining high standards for service, communication, accuracy, and operational execution.

In addition to managing day-to-day shipments, the Team Lead serves as a primary resource for the team by assisting with escalations, answering operational questions, monitoring team performance, reinforcing processes, and helping develop team members.

The ideal candidate is an experienced logistics professional who is organized, proactive, dependable, and comfortable leading others in a fast-paced 3PL environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
