Job summary

Leeco Steel is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage shipping and receiving documentation for inbound and outbound steel plate loads. You will collaborate with transportation providers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries that meet customer due dates while controlling costs.

Responsibilities include negotiating carrier rates, monitoring shipments, reviewing orders, and preparing Bills of Lading.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Logistics related field.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend in English.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with computers and standard office equipment.

• Communicate any issues, delays, or budget restraints with our sales team.
• Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare Bill of Ladings and send finalized shipping documents to billing.
• Develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized.
• Enter receivers/manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck.
• Manage a shipping schedule to accurately show sales/billing daily shipments.
• Read and understand material certifications.
• Manage and ensure traffic flow through the warehouse is working.

To collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pick-ups are made to meet customer due dates in the most accurate and cost-effective way.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

1. Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments

Required Skills:

To qualify for consideration an applicant should possess the following skills:

• Experience in a Logistics related field
• Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment
• High School diploma or GED
• Should possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend, in English. Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The employee is required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Perform duties to arrange and coordinate the shipping of product to customers in accordance with planned shipping schedules and in a cost effective manner.
