Job summary

Leeco Steel is seeking a Logistics/Shipping Coordinator to collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pickups to meet customer due dates in a cost-effective manner. You will coordinate freight rates, monitor outbound shipments, and communicate delays to the sales team while reviewing orders and shipping documents for accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and the ability to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Logistics related field.
• Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension in English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor outbound shipments to ensure in-transit as scheduled.
• Communicate issues, delays, or budget restraints with sales team.
• Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
• Prepare Bills of Lading and send shipping documents to billing.
• Develop processes to improve supply chain efficiency.
• Enter receivers/manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck.
• Manage a shipping schedule to show daily shipments.
• Read and understand material certifications.
• Manage traffic flow through the warehouse.

To collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pick-ups are made to meet customer due dates in the most accurate and cost-effective way.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
• Monitor all outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled
• Communicate any issues, delays, or budget restraints with our sales team
• Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
• Prepare Bill of Ladings and send finalized shipping documents to billing
• Develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
• Enter receivers/manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck.
• Manage a shipping schedule to accurately show sales/billing daily shipments
• Read and understand material certifications
• Manage and ensure traffic flow through the warehouse is working

Required Skills: To qualify for consideration an applicant should possess the following skills:

Experience in a Logistics related field

Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment

High School diploma or GED

Should possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend, in English.

Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Perform duties to arrange and coordinate the shipping of product to customers in accordance with planned shipping schedules and in a cost-effective manner.
