Job summary
Leeco Steel is seeking a Logistics/Shipping Coordinator to collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pickups to meet customer due dates in a cost-effective manner. You will coordinate freight rates, monitor outbound shipments, and communicate delays to the sales team while reviewing orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and the ability to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in a Logistics related field.
- Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Reading, writing, and comprehension in English.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers.
- Monitor outbound shipments to ensure in-transit as scheduled.
- Communicate issues, delays, or budget restraints with sales team.
- Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
- Prepare Bills of Lading and send shipping documents to billing.
- Develop processes to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Enter receivers/manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck.
- Manage a shipping schedule to show daily shipments.
- Read and understand material certifications.
- Manage traffic flow through the warehouse.
