Job summary

Sage Freight is seeking a Capacity Sales Intern for a 10-week, on-site internship in Franklin, Tennessee. You will learn freight brokerage, carrier sales, and transportation operations, with mentorship and hands-on experience to build practical skills in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with carriers, rate negotiations, and learning to use transportation technology and market data.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recent graduate in business, supply chain, logistics, sales, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at our Franklin, Tennessee office.
• internship includes training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit new carriers through outbound calls, research, referrals, networking, and lead generation.
• Build and maintain relationships with carrier owners, dispatchers, and drivers.
• Learn how carrier capacity is matched with customer freight based on lanes, equipment, timing, and pricing.
• Gain exposure to carrier rate negotiations and market conditions.
• Help identify reliable carrier partners for current and future freight opportunities.
• Document carrier activity, shipment updates, rates, and service information in Sage Freight’s TMS.
