Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens surgeon to cover ongoing assignments with blocks beginning Thursday AM. 7–14 days per month, call coverage included, and paid travel and housing are provided.

The role involves managing bariatric post-op cases in the ED, evaluating and stabilizing patients, and facilitating transfers as needed. Hospital privileges and board certification or eligibility are required, with Weatherby supporting consultants nationwide.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or eligible surgeon with US licensure.
• Comfortable with 7–14 days per month scheduling.
• Ability to evaluate, stabilize and facilitate transfer for complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute surgical coverage in assigned blocks.
• Assist in ED management of bariatric post-op patients when needed.
• Coordinate transfers and ensure patient safety across facilities.
