Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens general surgeon for a 7–14 day per month assignment in Washington. Blocks begin Thursday morning with included call coverage and focused general surgery work without colon procedures.

Providers should be comfortable handling bariatric post-op cases in the ED, evaluating and stabilizing complex presentations, and facilitating transfers to appropriate facilities. Hospital privileges and board eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 7–14 days per month with 7-day blocks starting Thursday morning.
• Call coverage included as part of the assignment.
• Bread-and-butter general surgery; colon surgery not required.
• Comfort managing bariatric post-op cases in the ED.
• Evaluate, stabilize, and facilitate transfers for complex presentations.
• Hospital privileges required; board certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute general surgery cases and coordinate transfers as needed.
• Document time entry and assignment details in the online portal.
• Provide coverage during scheduled blocks and respond to emergencies.
