Job summary

GHR Healthcare is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position in Springfield, Ohio. The role supports a busy surgical team in an inpatient hospital setting, caring for complex cardiothoracic and vascular patients.

The assignment runs 13 weeks with a 36-hour workweek (Mon–Fri, 8:00–5:00) plus floor/on-call coverage. Start ASAP; Epic EMR used for documentation.

Qualifications

Board certification in vascular surgery is required.
Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license is required.
ACLS certification is required.
DEA license is required.

Responsibilities

Provide post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.
Assist with emergency cardiothoracic and vascular cases.
Take consults and referrals from the ED, Cath Lab, and other hospital providers.
Assist in surgery, including vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissue for bypass conduit use.
Round on patients and coordinate ongoing care plans.
Interpret tests, order diagnostic testing, and write prescriptions as appropriate.
Document thoroughly in Epic EMR and maintain clear communication across the care team.
