Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring an Overhaul Technician for the 1st shift in Lexington, NC. You will perform comprehensive overhaul maintenance on locomotive trucks, inspects components, and re-profiles wheelsets to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires hands‑on mechanical experience, accurate documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop. Responsibilities include handling parts, operating cranes, and maintaining a clean workspace while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant work experience within a predominately mechanical environment.
• Ability to document actions and operations accurately.
• Good knowledge of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and PPE as appropriate.
• Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical drawings and publications.
• Ability to produce detailed technical reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul maintenance on locomotive trucks to meet production schedules.
• Remove, inspect, and fit components per Siemens work instructions to ensure quality and safety.
• Re-profile train wheelsets using a wheel lathe to restore geometry and safe operation.
• Preclean components with a pressure washer for inspection and repair.
• Move locomotive trucks safely using overhead cranes and lifting devices.
• Coordinate with warehouse to collect spare parts and materials to minimize delays.
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop and take on additional tasks as directed by management.
