Job summary

Trans-Global Solutions, Inc. is seeking a railroad yard worker responsible for assembling trains, switching railcars, and supporting locomotive operations in a yard.

duties include coupling/uncoupling, switching, and basic repairs to keep locomotives and railcars functioning safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with locomotive engineers using signals and radios.

Qualifications

• Safety training/certification required to work at customer facilities
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history and driving record verification

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections of locomotives and railcars
• Assist Locomotive Engineer by adding/supplying fuel, water, oil and sand
• Operate railcar handbrakes and track switches to route cars
• Replace knuckles in couplers and perform basic repairs or adjustments
• Uncouple loaded cars and distribute empty cars to siding or loading areas
• Communicate with the Locomotive Engineer using hand signals or two-way radio
