Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test.
• Have experience in machine operation.
• Able to work effectively in a team or independently.
• Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Safety and quality focused; willing to wear PPE at all times.

Responsibilities

• Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars using instructions from a switch list.
• Operates locomotive in congested yard areas with caution to prevent damage or injuries.
• Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard.
• Maintains a neat work area and reports hazards.
