Job summary

GATX in St. James, LA is seeking a Locomotive Leader to oversee inspection, repair, and maintenance of GATX-owned locomotives. You will manage the St. James MRU, coordinate service requests, and serve as interim manager when needed.

The role requires advanced locomotive repair knowledge, leadership experience, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will mentor technicians, ensure compliance with FRA/DOT rules, and collaborate with customers to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in business management/operations management, industrial technology, engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead locomotive inspection and repair to meet regulatory and customer needs.
• Mentor Locomotive Technicians and drive SQDC improvement.
• Oversee MRU operations and scheduling at St. James.
• Ensure accurate field service reports for billing and compliance.
• Maintain safety programs and certifications.
