Job summary

GATX Corporation in Louisiana seeks a Locomotive Leader to schedule, inspect and repair locomotives and mentor technicians on the St. James MRU. You will supervise operations, ensure safety, quality and timely execution, and maintain strong customer relationships.

You will lead complex mechanical and electrical repairs, review blueprints, follow FRA/DOT rules, and drive SQDC improvements while coordinating field service reports and training staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• TWIC required or ability to obtain; DOT physical required.
• Minimum 5 years locomotive repair experience; ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in scheduled and on-demand maintenance and inspections of locomotives to meet regulatory and customer needs.
• Perform complex electrical/mechanical repairs; read blueprints and schematics.
• Mentor Locomotive Technicians and drive SQDC improvements.
• Maintain field service reports and ensure safety and quality.
